Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a SAP EWM Solution Architect to join the team at our head office in Midrand. SAP EWM Solution Architect will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimisation of SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) solutions aligned with our organization’s logistics and supply chain goals. The ideal candidate will provide end-to-end solution leadership from blueprinting and architecture design to integration and deployment, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with business processes.

 

Minimum Requirement

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric or a Senior Certificate
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in SAP implementations, with at least 5 years specializing in SAP EWM.
  • Proven experience as a Solution Architect or Lead Consultant in complex SAP EWM deployments.

Advantageous:

  • Certification in SAP EWM or SAP S/4HANA Supply Chain is preferred.

Solution Architecture & Design

  • Lead the overall architecture and design of SAP EWM solutions across multiple warehouses and distribution centers.
  • Define and document EWM architecture, interfaces, and integration with SAP S/4HANA and other systems (e.g., TM, MM, SD).
  • Translate business requirements into robust, scalable, and efficient technical solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to SAP best practices, security, and performance standards.


Implementation & Delivery

  • Lead or oversee EWM implementation projects, from initial blueprint through go-live and hypercare.
  • Configure key EWM functionalities such as inbound/outbound processes, internal warehouse movements, labour management, RF frameworks, and yard management.
  • Support data migration, cutover planning, and integration testing with connected systems.


Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with business process owners, supply chain leaders, and IT teams to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all SAP EWM-related topics.
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance on new SAP technologies and digital warehouse innovations.


Continuous Improvement & Support

  • Drive optimization of existing warehouse processes through SAP EWM enhancements and automation.
  • Stay current with SAP product roadmaps, new releases, and best practices.
  • Support user training, documentation, and knowledge transfer activities.


General:

  • Deep expertise in SAP EWM (decentralized and embedded) configuration and integration. Strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA interfaces.
