Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for Payroll Administrator to join their team in Midrand. To effectively administer payroll functions in accordance with Dis-Chem`s business requirements and strategic operations. Maintain employee records on the relevant systems and maintain absolute confidentiality thereof.

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate
  • Minimum of 1-2 Payroll experience

Advantageous:

  • Previous experience in SAP Payroll

Job Description: 

  • To assist with the maintenance, audits, and update of all employee personnel records.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem payroll policies and standard operating procedures when performing duties.
  • Accurately capture all hours worked onto the SAP Payroll System.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is received from the Recruitment team when loading new employees onto SAP.
  •  Ensure all terminations for employees are captured on SAP and their salaries be adjusted according to termination documentation to ensure accurate payment.
  •  Ensure all job title and department changes are captured when relevant documentation is received, and necessary signatures are present.
  •  Ensure employee provident fund, medical aid and any other relevant documentation is administered according to Dis-Chem standard operating procedures and that employee information is correctly captured on SAP before on time submission to these third parties
  • Accurately capture employee leave according to leave forms received and correct any leave type where necessary.
  • Ensure employees receive their pay slips within a reasonable time frame
  • Follow up with stores regarding relevant outstanding or incorrect documents that need to be processed.
  • Inform management of any discrepancies regarding systems, documentation or hours worked and act accordingly.
  • Attend to assigned heat calls on a daily basis to ensure problems or concerns are addressed in the most least time and most cost-effective manner possible.
  • Escalate unresolved problems or concerns to management to facilitate the problem-solving process.
  • Assist employees with any payroll queries they might have and if necessary direct the queries to the relevant people and /or management.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.

Competencies: 

Essential: 

  • SAP Payroll and the understanding of tax calculations.
  • Finds solutions to potential issues as well as knowing when to escalate the problem and what level to escalate it to.
  • Comprehends fundamental arithmetic’s like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Conveys ideas and facts verbally using language.
  • Addresses customer questions in a timely manner.
  • Recognises the need for procedures and follows relevant procedures.
  • Maintains confidentiality and meets own commitments. Adheres to organisational policies and procedures.
  • Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/ Powerpoint and outlook) SAP Payroll
