Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in Midrand has an opportunity available for a Marketing Manager: Cover to join the Head Office team. The purpose of the role is to design and execute strategic through the line (TTL) marketing campaigns for Dis-Chem Cover (Gap Cover, Medical Insurance, Life Cover and related programmes and campaigns) by applying awareness, performance-driven and integrated marketing practices. This includes using full-funnel strategies to optimize awareness & engagement, drive lead generation, and align with Dis-Chem's brand values and commercial objectives. To Plan, execute and oversee all digital marketing initiatives including social media for all Dis-Chem Cover product accounts and related accounts to educate the public about the Dis-Chem Cover Products and rewards program in South Africa.



Minimum Requirements…

Essential:

  • Matric or Senior Certificate
  • Degree in Marketing or Communications or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 -8 years Marketing or relevant experience
Advantage:
  • Postgraduate qualification in related field
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years management and health industry experience

Key Responsibilities...

1. Dis-Chem Cover Marketing Strategy:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategy and practices for Dis-Chem’s Cover products aligned with respective target audiences.
  • Full-Funnel Marketing: Design strategies that move customers through each stage of the marketing funnel, from awareness and consideration to purchase, using data to personalize and refine approach.
  • Lead marketing projects and coordinate resources to effectively deliver market related solutions timeously.
  • Launch campaigns designed to increase brand awareness and drive lead generation, while ensuring continual alignment with the Dis-Chem Brand.
  • Compile, submit and monitor the annual budget for sign off, ongoing campaign, and budget reviews.
  • Compile and manage the annual campaign calendar for the Dis-Chem Cover products.
  • Monitor the progress and measure the effectiveness of campaigns, providing regular updates to Marketing Forums and Management teams.
  • Utilise campaign and market insights to ensure a continued optimization of processes and frameworks to deliver the strategy.
2. Marketing Campaign Delivery:
  • Oversee the development of high-quality marketing content for Dis-Chem Cover Products advertising campaigns to promote brand awareness and drive Lead generation.
  • Compile project plans and manage all marketing campaigns from beginning to end as well as ensure that the target objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams, including designers, content creators etc to align marketing strategies, creative assets, and campaign objectives.
  • Assist in the administration of the marketing campaigns, events, launches and ad hoc campaigns and proposals.
3. Stakeholder Partnership:
  • Work co-operatively and constructively with multiple stakeholders including internal marketing teams, the innovation lab X, bigly labs by Dis-Chem, subsidiary marketing teams, external agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Multi-stakeholder engagement will be required with close collaboration with the Dis-Chem marketing team, our distribution partner ServeCo, insurance partners Kaelo, Dis-Chem Life, GuardRisk, Centriq and other relevant stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Affiliate & Partner Marketing: Develop and manage affiliate strategies and co-marketing partnerships to expand customer reach and acquisition.
4. Research and Reporting:
  • Research market's consumer preferences to inform marketing strategies. 
  • Keep abreast of the current market trends and developments and ensure relevance.
  • Monitor campaign performance metrics to provide data-driven insights and recommendations to enhance campaign effectiveness, reach, and engagement.
  • Research and analyse member data for Dis-Chem Cover products to create comprehensive reports and use the information to improve on future marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Routinely analyse data and troubleshoot to understand issues and identify solutions to develop key marketing metrics to ensure campaigns are meeting goals.
  • Sales Funnel Understanding: Deep knowledge of user journeys and customer behaviour across each stage of the funnel with an ability to optimize for acquisition and retention.
  • Affiliate Program Knowledge: Experience with partner portals, affiliate tracking tools, and channel performance management.
5. Team Management:
  • Assess and manage Dis-Chem Cover marketing resources to continually improve processes and outcomes.
  • Promote a robust culture of accountability, innovation, and performance management, whilst modelling the company’s values.
  • Train and guide team members on Dis-Chem Cover product marketing initiatives and/or campaigns to ensure successful implementation best practices and strategies.
  • Assist in setting objectives for the team and tracking progress.
  • Assist in facilitating the creation of accountable, full-service teams who understand and strive to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
