Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for Continuous Improvement Junior Engineer at our Head Office in Midrand. To support continuous development department with reviewing, modifying, assessing existing business processes that support business operating model.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • BEng Industrial Engineering or related qualification
  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in a similar role


Advantage:

  • Experience in business process and system design
  • Advantage: SQL, Python, R experience

 

Job Specification

  • Participate in engineering and maintenance projects, installations within the line of work
  • Design operational processes, including, the formulation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and optimisation of processes.
  • Render day to day operations to improve efficiency within the department.
  • Conduct root cause analyses and continuous improvement of processes.
  • Develop and implement process improvements and technological upgrades.
  • Develop design and warehouse standards in cooperation with management and user personnel.
  • Prepare material and equipment lists, cost analyses, and estimated costs.
  • Design the layout of facilities and determining personnel requirements.
  • Conduct optimisation studies and perform detailed engineering analysis of existing facilities, systems and process equipment.
  • Assist with establishing and defining project and timelines, from the determine stage to the implement stage.
  • Support the Continuous Improvement Senior Engineers with various projects such as warehouse configuration and drive productivity.
  • Create and update training documents, standard operating procedures, and business process diagrams.
  • Perform, document, and manage detailed testing of all improvements, enhancements, and reports.
  • Liaise with external suppliers to ensure equipment and consumables used are appropriate to the operations and are the most efficient solution.
  • Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers, and other service providers to ensure effective operation of the department.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to complete project deliverables for clients.
  • Report on business sustaining activities (i.e., SAP enhancement projects)
  • Provide detailed reporting on running projects
