Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ Distribution Centre in Gqeberha (Eastern Cape) has an opportunity available for a DC Outbound Manager to join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to achieve operational excellence within the Dis-Chem Distribution Centres, by performing a management function through directing and coordinating the operation of the outbound function.
Minimum Requirements:
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Relevant Degree/Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.
- Minimum 5 Years relevant experience in Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain Environment.
Advantageous:
- Relevant experience in the field of Logistics/Supply Chain Management.
- Experience in the Retail/Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Experience with SAP, EWM or other ERP systems.
Job Specification:
- Ensure that the system is monitored, cleaned up by using the management tools, available on SAP EWM.
- Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximise operational efficiencies.
- Ensure that customer orders and jabs are managed daily and that wave item clearing is maintained with no orders in excess of 48 hours.
- Assist with implementation and optimization of new projects related to improving the efficiency of operations.
- Ensure that all resources, including electronic equipment and materials handling equipment is maintained and in safe operating conditions.
- Ensure that all orders are distributed as per Dis-Chem standard operating procedures.
- Ensure that resources and queues are monitored and optimised as per operational requirements.
- Ensure optimal planning and forecasting of department resources to meet the day-to-day strategic objectives.
- Develop and Implement solutions for addressing large seasonal shipments or unusual/ special packaging.
- Manage shelf life to ensure no short dated and/or expired stock is dispatch to customers.
- Analyse and interpret all potential departmental shrinkage indicators and act accordingly.
- Ensure effective management and adherence to GWP, SHE program and OHS act.
- Effective and efficient resolution and communication of internal and external customer day-to-day queries.
- Ensure that all deliveries are delivered in full, on time and to the correct customer.
- Prevent and act on security or risk issues and ensure that risks are dealt with proactively.
- Identify supplier issues that impact required financial objectives and address them at the appropriate level internally and externally.
- Develop an environment that creates, maintains or improves the ability to carry out work related obligations.
