Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ in KZN has an opportunity available for a DC Outbound Junior Manager to join the team.The main purpose of this role will be to achieve operational excellence within the Dis-Chem Distribution Centres, by performing a management function through directing and coordinating the operation of the outbound function. This includes the daily planning and releasing of waves, maintenance of the order system, emergency orders, replenishment, picking, checking and Invoicing of stock purchased from the DC in order to meet both legal and Store/Customer requirements.
Minimum Requirements…
Essential:
- Grade 12 - Matric or Senior Certificate and relevant Degree/Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
- Minimum 2 Years relevant experience in Distribution, Logistics or Supply Chain Environment
Advantageous:
- Relevant experience in the field of Logistics/Supply Chain Management
- Experience in the Retail/Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Experience with SAP, EWM or other ERP systems
Job Specification…
- Ensure that the system is monitored, cleaned up by using the management tools, available on SAP EWM
- Plan and implement procedures and systems to maximise operational efficiencies
- Ensure that customer orders and jabs are managed daily and that wave item clearing is maintained with no orders in excess of 48 hours
- Assist with implementation and optimization of new projects related to improving the efficiency of operations
- Ensure that all resources, including electronic equipment and materials handling equipment is maintained and in safe operating conditions
- Ensure that all orders are distributed as per Dis-Chem standard operating procedures
- Ensure that replenishment system Master Data is accurate to fulfil purchase orders, report inventory related issues and ensure logistical efficiencies
- Ensure optimal planning and forecasting of department resources to meet the day-to-day strategic objectives
- Anticipate issues and opportunities and act on them pro-actively – be solution focused
- Analyse and interpret all potential departmental shrinkage indicators and act accordingly
- Ensure that stock is packed in the correct size box/ tote and is sealed and labelled correctly
- Ensure that all goods dispatched are accompanied by a content list and/ or labels are correct in all aspects
- Ensure that all stock leaving area is scanned and all discrepancies are resolved
- Ensure that all goods when packed in a manner that will prevent cross-contamination, damages and maximise box capacity
- Resolve personnel problems by analysing data, investigating issues, and identifying solutions and take corrective action
- Efficient and accurate administration, filling and reporting for transactional excellence
- Effective and efficient resolution and communication of internal and external customer day-to-day queries
- Identify supplier issues that impact required financial objectives and address them at the appropriate level internally and externally

- Knowledge of Management Systems, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, Emergency process, Public Safety and Security,Customer Service, Transportation Principles and Methods, Production and Processing, Material Handling Standards, Administration and Management, Supply Chain and Personnel and Human Resources Management

- Be able to work any shift i.e. day, night, weekends, holidays and overtime as per business and operational requirements
- Must be willing to be rotated to where needed and must be willing to perform any other functions within the department, should the need arise
