Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ Warehouse in Gqeberha DC has an opportunity available for DC Inventory Clerks to join the team. The main purpose of this role will be to achieve operational excellence, within the Dis-Chem Warehouse. Perform clerical functions in the Inventory Department, in order to meet both legal and customer requirements and ensure physical stock integrity and accuracy in the warehouse is maintained.
Minimum Requirements…
Essential:
- Grade 12 or Senior Certificate
- Previous experience in a similar roll
Job Specification…
- Interpret and initiate continuous inventory, as well as annual stock counts
- Ensure accuracy of counts and process the counts according to standard operating procedure
- Prevent, analyse and interpret all potential departmental shrinkage indicators (adjustments) and act accordingly
- Ensure high level responsibility
- Maintain a stock rotation on an inventory based on FEFO (first expiry, first out) principle
- Continuously resolve stock issues and errors
- Update stock reports as required by management
- Effective and efficient resolution of internal and external customer day-to-day queries
- Deal with all aspects of store or customer queries
- Ensure optimal planning and forecasting of department resources to meet the day-to-day strategic objectives
- Efficient and accurate administration, filling and reporting for transactional excellence
- Adhere to Good Warehousing Practises, SHE programme and Occupational Health and Safety act
- Be responsible for ensuring that good cycle counting is performed on a regular cyclic basis
- Maintain a high level of accuracy while performing duties
- Spot-check accuracy of counters and take corrective action, with repeat offenders
- Keep the penalty area clear on a daily basis
- Be aware of all pick and reserve positions in different warehouse sections
Competencies
Essential:
- English – Read, write and speak well
- Knowledge of Distribution Centre, logistics and supply chain operations
- Demonstrates an ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
- Demonstrates an understanding of the necessary leadership principles, values, principles of behaviour and leads by example
Special conditions of employment:
- South African Citizen
- MIE, clear criminal and credit
- Driver’s license and own reliable transport
- Be able to adapt to working hours according to business needs
- Be able to work any shift i.e. day, night, weekends, holidays and overtime as per business and operational requirements
- Must be willing to be rotated to where needed and must be willing to perform any other functions within the department, should the need arise
