Job Description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Employee Benefits Team Leader to join their team in Midrand on a 4 month fixed term contract. To effectively maintain and administrate set payroll functions in accordance to Dis-Chem`s business requirements and strategic operations. Maintain employee files and information on the relevant systems and maintain absolute confidentiality thereof. 

Minimum Requirements

Essential:

  • Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate
  • Minimum of 3-4 years administrative experience
  • Minimum of 2 years management experience 

Job Description 

  • Adhere to Dis-Chem payroll benefit policies and standard operating procedures when performing duties.
  • Capture of medical aid deductions on SAP and respond to any benefits queries.
  • Ensure Indemnity forms are sent to employees.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is received from the business when handling a Funeral, Death, Disability, Retirement, Withdrawal or Divorce claim.
  • Ensure employees received their name badges and medical aid cards within a reasonable time frame.
  • Follow up with stores regarding relevant outstanding or incorrect documents that need to be processed.
  • Inform management of any discrepancies regarding systems, documentation or hours worked and act accordingly.
  • Attend to assigned heat calls daily to ensure problems or concerns are addressed in the least time and most cost-effective manner possible.
  • Escalate unresolved problems or concerns to the Payroll Benefits Team Leader to facilitate the problem-solving process.
  • Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.

Competencies: 

Essential: 

  • Knowledge of SAP Payroll
  • Finds solutions to potential issues as well as knowing when to escalate the problem and what level to escalate it to.
  • Comprehends fundamental arithmetic’s like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Maintains confidentiality and meets own commitments. Adheres to organisational policies and procedures. Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results with little oversight.
  • Recognises the need for procedures and follows relevant procedures.
