Dis-Chem Pharmacies’ Head Office in Midrand has an opportunity available for a Category Assistant to join the procurement team. The main purpose of this role is to support the buyer in managing suppliers, market analysis, assortment management, planning and stock management. Responsible in delivery and support the implementation of category strategy.
Minimum Requirements…
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics and Accounting
- Minimum 1 – 2 years’ experience in Customer Service/Planning/Business Analysis within Retail
- Certificate in Supply Chain or Similar Field
Advantageous:
- Diploma/Degree in Supply Chain
- 2 – 3 years’ experience in a similar role
Job Specification…
Promotion Management:
- Manage all promotional and marketing activities.
- Ensure all promotional deadlines are adhere to.
- Ensure Promotional Monthly planner/grid is created and updated.
- Promotional stock management is tracked.
- Monitor and control promotional orders.
- Analyse promotion pricing against competitors
Product Management:
- Ensuring articles are listed/maintained correctly with correct- Department, Category, BMC, Brand,
Vendor, attributes, description, cost prices and Retail prices in line with Group requirements. - New article listings to be done correctly on the portal and check that all details are correctly listed on
system (SAP) – Check ZAM report weekly to make sure Listing was done in full of all needed details - New Listing tracker need to be updated, analysed regularly and report on performance of products to
the buyer. - Ensuring all master data is correct including -Forecasting, Replenishment and Ecommerce.
- Maintain daily stock cover in line with the group or buyer requirements.
- Oversee inventory and suggest transfers to prevent overstock issues and balance Group inventory.
- Create Jab allocation and is processed in line with the Group or Buyer requirements.
- Analyse stock levels of entire departments for the Group. (Stores and Distribution centres).
- Analysis of dormant stock and execution of returns and markdown
- Check supplier in fill rates weekly and raise risks or potential risks to the buyers
- Ensure Price increases are tracked, implemented and orders are placed in time with Buyer’s approval
and requirements. - Planograms - work with the Dotactiv Team to align master data within SAP based on clustering and
assortment planning approved by the Buyer.
Sales & Inventory Level Monitoring:
- Conduct weekly business analysis, ensure proper inventory level by consistently reviewing days stock
cover, sell through and trend. Any concerns, issues, or risks to be raised with Forecasting &
Replenishment and followed up that the concerns, issues, or risks was rectified. - Take pro-active measures to minimise out of stocks.
- Analyse store and warehouse flows to predict potential out of stocks and determine the best actions
needed. - Analyse market by using Nielson’s, IRI or any data tools available to review and understand trends,
changes, risks, and opportunities in the business with competitor analysis.
- Maintain a high-level communication with all stakeholders internal and external.
- Communicate and coordinate between Marketing, Stores, Customer Service and Operations during
shortfalls. - Engage in team meetings to communicate on company initiatives status and execution.
- Collaborate with internal supply planning team on future inventory needs.
- Maintain units of measure and master data that affects ordering and F&R.
- Extract and send all needed reports to the buyer as required.
- Manage all samples in line with buyers’ requirements.
