Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Midrand has an opportunity available for a Cashier Development Trainer to join the Cape Town Head Office team. The main purpose of this role will be to facilitate and conduct the training activities of Point-of-Sale employees.  Provide support to the Dis-Chem stores regarding POS queries, information on changes and any updates.

Minimum Requirements…

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Certificate in Facilitation
  • 2 – 3 years training/facilitation experience within the retail industry

 

Advantageous:

  • 1 – 2 years working experience as a Cashier
  • Tertiary Qualification in Education, Training and Development (Moderator, Assessment and Facilitation)
  • Cashier operations, Retail Systems background, and SAP knowledge

 

Job Specification…

  • Ensure point of sale employees receive ongoing training and coaching in line with the business requirements.
  • Conduct training need analysis for POS when required to establish gaps that diminish productivity.
  • Demonstrate the use of equipment including, operating computer equipment and leading group discussions
  • Conduct assessments of training
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, using surveys, questionnaire, interviews, and observation, in order to plan future courses or to amend existing ones.
  • Support Team leader with Forecasting future training requirements and address them accordingly.
  • Ensure that Point of Sale employees are up to date with all departmental changes
  • Keep accurate records of all training activities and ensure registers are submitted to the Learning & Development Department.
  • Order instruction /training material and ensure printing of the material is completed timeously.
  • Ensure accurate data capturing and completion of documentation is timeously completed.
  • Remain informed of weekly Cash-up variances, customer service complaints and compliments, and shrinkage to identify training requirements and report irregularities.
  • Compile training reports and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure effective verbal and written communication with all relevant stakeholders in a speedy and timeous manner.
  • Report any matters of concern to the relevant individuals.
  • Escalate any unresolved issues to senior management.
