Dis-Chem Pharmacies (CJ Marketing) has an opportunity available for a CJM Brand Manager to join their Pretoria team to be responsible for understanding target audience motivators, and for developing marketing campaigns that position our brand according to those motivators. These marketing campaigns will not only drive customer engagement but will further define our brand's reputation and image in relation to the market. The role will be consultative, introducing best practices for brand building for all entities in the Solution Hub. Oversee a wide array of business functions including branding, communication channels, product
development, online and offline promotions, and market research.

 
Minimum Requirements…

Essential:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Diploma or Degree in Marketing
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in the Marketing in FMCG
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in management. In depth knowledge of Brand management and development social media marketing Advantage

 Advantage:

  • Agency experience in retail


Job Specification…

Branding Projects Management:

  • Develop and implement brand strategy and plan to increase market share and drive revenue
    generation within the context of utilising internal and external analysis as well as competitor, consumer
    and industry trend insights.
  • Ensure that brand positioning and the communication platform resonates with the identified target market to deliver aligned and impactful marketing campaigns, promotions, activations, digital and social executions as well as innovation.
  • Sourcing suppliers based on the annual branding project plan.
  • Planning annual branding projects with each brand’s management and reviewing them quarterly
  • Provide briefs on the target market and establish branding requirements of projects.
  • Manage projects and/or events in conjunction with third party or in-house agencies.
  • Provide full analysis and evaluation of project outcomes and feedback to Head of Marketing
  • Coordinate all project objectives and provide summarized feedback upon project completion.
  • Set and confirm project budgets accordingly.
  • The initiation and co-ordination of promotions and marketing strategies in accordance with brand equity objectives.
  • Implementation of cost efficient and effective brand interactions ensuring the achievement of objectives within the set budgets, communication to merchants and retailers
  • Negotiation, communication briefing of project plans with the respective stakeholders.
Media Management:
  • Maintain social media content strategy and facilitate objectives like building page followers, posting and creating content, enhancing page engagement, creating new and maintaining current relationships.
  • Manage media agencies, if applicable, and control the costs thereof.
Channel Marketing Assistance:
  • To plan Channel Marketing to promote brand awareness through branding content, for relevant brands.
  • Establish, building and maintain strong relationships between brands and their customers.
  • Approve branding content and creative output.
Key Stakeholder Management:
  • Be an active member of the internal cross-functional team, with frequent engagement to ensure accurate delivery of projects.
  • Foster great working relationships with relevant stakeholders through active leadership to achieve brand objectives.
  • Building a trusting relationship with relevant stakeholders with frequent updates on projects status and dependencies. (Content, feedback)
  • Adjust project timelines to minimise delays.
General:
  • Brand Design – ensuring CI principles are met and consistently implemented. Evaluating the efficacy and need for changes from time to time.
  • UX / UI Design – Advising on look and feel of all own brands.
  • Messaging – designing and evaluating the brand message templates that all relevant brands use.
  • Copywriting – ensuring proper briefs about tone, frequency, deadlines and other brand message elements.
  • Tone Of Voice – ensuring that all communications from brands are continuously evaluated for relevance, efficacy and target market response.
  • Brand Personality – ensuring the ethos of each brand is present in communication.
  • Brand Experience – ensuring that there is a plan to handle negative experiences with the brand.
  • Marketing Strategy – get a holistic view of the brand objectives of each represented brand as provided by marketing managers and suggest the best execution channels/methods.

Competencies...

Essential:

  • Knowledge of Marketing Practices and Principles.
  • Knowledge about Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Have an eye for detail and accuracy and be a good listener, being able to execute instructions accurately every time.
  • Good organisational skills and a high degree of accuracy is required.
  • English – Read, write, and speak fluently.
  • Be able to communicate accurately, both verbal and written. Attention to detail regarding written communication.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, use initiative and take ownership of tasks.
